Bitcoin Jungle

Bitcoin Jungle is a community-driven Bitcoin project based in Costa Rica’s Southern Zone. It began as a small experiment in the local farmers’ markets and has grown into a circular economy used by families, small businesses, and visitors across the region. The project maintains the local Lightning infrastructure, mobile wallet, and merchant tools that make everyday Bitcoin payments simple and reliable. It’s open, collaborative, and focused on real-world use rather than speculation. Hundreds of local shops—from fruit stands to cafés and tour operators—accept Bitcoin through Bitcoin Jungle, helping money move directly between neighbors with no intermediaries. At its core, Bitcoin Jungle is about financial freedom, community resilience, and giving people better tools to participate in the modern economy. It’s built and maintained as public infrastructure, not a private startup, and it continues to grow thanks to the support and participation of the community it serves.
